Area around Aguasvivas river with the Almonacid de la Cuba roman dam
The Aguasvivas River leaves us in the area of Almonacid de la Cuba, one of the most beautiful spots. Starting with the Roman dam, incrusted into the rock of the gully, with its 34 metres high and its good state of preservation, it is one of the greatest attractions of the region. Next to it, we see a viewpoint with information boards and a recreational area with a playground for children, barbecues and a fountain. From the dam, the river advances, leaving the village with its steep, narrow streets on one slope, and on the other, limestone hills where flocks of mountain goats are often seen. In the area nearest the bed, the vegetable gardens and fruit trees with their irrigation ditches, which distribute the water, make these areas a real oasis among the dryness of the nearby lands.
