Born in Zaragoza on 10 March 1935, the family of the most important song-writer of Aragon originated from Azuara and Belchite. He spent most of his childhood in Belchite and many anecdotes are preserved, either mentioned or written on more than one occasion by this professor, song-writer, television presenter, writer and politician, and MP in the Congress for Chunta Aragonesista (VII and VIII legislatures). In 2010, the University of Zaragoza named him Doctor Honoris Causa and shortly after his death, the Ministers of Defence, Carme Chacon, and Education, Angel Gabilondo, granted him the Gran Cruz de la Orden Alfonso X el Sabio and the Work Merit Medal. He died on 19 September 2010 in Zaragoza at the age of 75.
