EL SASO POSITIONS (BELCHITE)

The El Saso positions in Belchite are a series of remains located among fields of cereal crops. On the left-hand side of the road, on the way to Azaila, and next to the dump site, are the remains of a farrowing pen which was a very important national position in the defence of Belchite. A circular cement machine-gun nest is preserved as well as a tunnel under the hill with openings, leading to Codo. This position offers pretty panoramic views of the olive grove with the towns of Codo and El Planeron on the horizon.

Two bunkers are located on the other side of the road, facing the area of the Aguasvivas River and the road that goes to Lecera.
